Biography of Susan Rebecca Trent Lawson
Early Life and Calling
Susan Rebecca Trent was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, to Remus A. Trent Sr. and Ruby M. Trent. From a young age, Rebecca demonstrated a deep spiritual connection, accepting Christ at just eight years old. Her baptism was officiated by Rev. Elliott at Jordan Baptist in Appomattox, Virginia. This early commitment to faith set the foundation for her lifelong ministry.
Rebecca’s ministry is distinguished by her gifts in teaching the word, as referenced in John 1 (KJV), as well as healing, inspiring, and leading others to God. These qualities are consistently evident in her service and work. She is devoted to her calling to bring justice and equity, following a divine mandate to liberate God’s people. This responsibility includes restoring paths and serving as God’s shepherdess.
Her professional background includes thirty-two years of service in the Federal Government, notably with FEMA during Hurricane Fran Disaster response. Rebecca has received excellence awards and has served the Commonwealth of Virginia through various accomplishments. These include roles with the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Department of Social Services (DSS), Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT, "Keep it Moving"), Department of Juvenile Justice (31st Courts), and the Department of Corrections (RCU) in Business Administration Management.
Rebecca is also recognized for sharing the Gospel of Christ and is known as a dedicated prayer warrior, consistently proclaiming victory and letting her light shine.
Ministerial Journey and Education
She served as the First Lady to the late Rev. Odis William Lawson. In 2018, Rebecca was ordained as a minister, with her 2nd ministerial lifeline covering by Rev. Joycelin Jones in 2026. She earned Grief Certification in 2019.
She has contributed to Tree of Life in Lynchburg, Virginia, and has also served with Forest Level the Ramp, Twenty-four Seven Church, Hungry Generation, and International Tabernacle Ministries, Bible Truth Tabernacle, First AME Church, Victory Chape Michelle Mc Kinney Ministries and CBN.
Advocacy and Current Ministry
Rebecca is the founder of Widows Grief Ministry, established as a non-profit organization in 2026. The ministry focuses on supporting widows, wider and loves ones,through stages of grief, providing life skills, nurturing, spiritual feeding, and prayer.
Rebecca believes the Holy Spirit works through her vessel, empowering her to teach and heal. She is a spiritual warrior, devoted to winning souls and uplifting others.
